Adventures Through KayakingLocated between the grandiose peaks of Mt. Olympus and the Pacific Ocean, Adventures Through Kayaking, is located within minutes of serene lakes, majestic seas, and protected rivers.

Paddling the peaceful and scenic lakes of the Olympic Peninsula is a wonderful introduction to kayaking for the whole family. Two hour or half-day kayak trips are offered to enjoy the birds, wildlife, and scenery of the Elwha Valley. While paddling Lake Aldwell, you'll have the opportunity to view upstream snow covered peaks and glaciers. With nesting Bald Eagles, Osprey, Buffleheads, and Harlequin ducks, this is a kayak trip everyone will enjoy.

Our favorite sea kayak destination, Freshwater Bay, is still a secret held by the local paddling community. only minutes from our shop, this area depicts the best of northwest marine life, geology, and birds. While marine birds such as Cormorants, Oystercatchers, Surf Scoters, and Great Blue Heron watch from their rocky perch, we frequently paddle alongside the seals, sea lions, and otters. Bring your camera; this is a must-do kayak journey.

Kayaking the Elwha River
For those with kayaking experience or a longing to explore our rivers, the Elwha and Sol Duc provide mucho fun. We offer two hour guided excursions down the lower Elwha River in fun, stable, inflatable kayaks. We'll teach you the basics and show you the route, but you have the reins. This mild Class II section of river is fun, very scenic, and a great intro to river kayaking. If you like the rush of rivers, sign up for our multi day river wisdom course. This class will teach you basic river skills and techniques, giving you confidence to navigate rivers on your own.
